The main activities of CLADEM El Salvador at the national level during the first semester of 2005 have been:

  • CLADEM El Salvador will hold its National Assembly on June 24th.

  • Within the activities scheduled for March 8th, Women’s International Day, CLADEM El Salvador decided to participate in the blankets’ contest promoted by the World March Movement.

  • CLADEM El Salvador participated in the March 8th march together with several women’s organizations, carrying the blanket with the CLADEM logo. Likewise in the concentration held at the Civic Plaza.

  • In March there were various events, one of them out in the open at the Civic Plaza, which was the meeting venue for the world march, in this case Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico.

  • In the blankets’ contest, CLADEM participated as Jury. A pronouncement was elaborated and the Women’s World Letter was signed.

  • In April, 11 macro-actions were performed, to consolidate the march’s position, with CLADEM El Salvador participating in all of them. During May the actions were also 11.

  • In May the most relevant activity was the forum “The penal process and the proof in the sexual offenses against women, boys and girls”, held on May 24th. Said activity was a complete success, since there was a majority participation of male/female employees of the Justice sector.

  • In June, the ALLIANCE for Sexual and Reproductive Health (of which CLADEM El Salvador is a part), hosted two breakfast sessions, with an average of 14 women and 1 man (a professor at the UES), having worked on issues to improve the Work Plan and the dissemination strategy.

Within the framework of activities of the Regional Alliance of the Campaign for an Inter-American Convention on Sexual Rights and Reproductive Rights, CLADEM El Salvador performed the following activities:

  • It sent the report on the presentation of the diagnosis on the situation of the Sexual Rights and Reproductive Rights, El Salvador 1995-2000. The presentation was done on August 24, 2004.

  • On June 1st the Forum “The Sexual Rights and Reproductive Rights in the national and regional context” was held. Said Forum was organized by the Campaign for the Convention on the SRRR – El Salvador, the ALLIANCE for sexual and reproductive health and CLADEM El Salvador. Roxana Vásquez from Peru, -Regional Coordinator of the Campaign for the Convention on the SRRR and Alejandra Sardá, from Argentina –coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Program of the Human Rights Commission on LGBTT. The convocation was a complete success, having participated more than 100 persons from different sectors.
