The main activities of CLADEM Honduras during the first semester of 2005 have been:  

  • Participation of CLADEM Honduras in a Forum on Political Participation of Women and Democracy held on April 7th in Tegucigalpa. In said event, the colleagues Silvia Pimentel, Elisa Carrio and Maria Luisa Alvarez participated as panelists.

  • Amnesty International proposes us to consider carrying out an activity in Honduras within the framework of the Campaign for Women Human Rights Advocates. Amnesty International would provide the funds for the event and the local organization(s) would work jointly in the event’s organization. CLADEM Honduras, as well as the CDM and CIPRODEH accepted participating in the co-organization and support of this Amnesty International activity.

Advocacy actions:

  • CLADEM Honduras is working so that the female participation regarding the political parties’ internal elections to be held on February 20th is respected.

During the period there was participation in the following international events:

  • Participation of a colleague from CLADEM Honduras in a meeting organized by the DAW on “Good practices in the fight against and elimination of violence against women”, held in Vienna, from May 16th thru 20th.
